Michelle’s App of the Week: Grammarly

Michelle Wozniak, Senior Marketing Consultant, Heinz Marketing

This week’s app is for those who struggle with grammar or just want to sharpen their writing skills! By now, you’ve heard of Grammarly. The company has been around for over a decade but has expanded its offerings to include some fantastic features.

If you are not familiar, Grammarly is a cloud-based typing assistant that helps users improve their writing skills with detailed feedback. The tool goes beyond grammar to help make your writing clear, concise and compelling.

In addition to the online app, users can download Grammarly via the desktop or mobile app. Options for a Chrome extension and Microsoft Office add-in are also available.

When it comes to offering their products, Grammarley has three types of plans. The free version of the application includes basic spelling, grammar and punctuation tips. There is also a premium plan for individuals that offers proposed rewriting, tone adjustment, plagiarism detection, word choice, fluency, and more. Finally, the business plan involves teams of 3 to 149 people. It includes premium and style guides, snippets, everything from brands to tones, analysis and more.

Some of Grammarly’s stand-out features include the ability to suggest real-time writing wherever you are working. Whether you’re using an online grammarly editor, writing an email to Gmail / Outlook, taking notes on OneNote, or creating a post on LinkedIn, Grammarly covers you.

Remember: it is never too late to improve your writing skills. Having a poorly written resume or a customer’s email can loosen you major credibility points. Adopting writing-based tools like Grammarly can help you prevent mistakes before they happen.
